This blog is a storehouse of my thoughts, world-isms, some attempts at humour, whether in form of wordplay or a cynic's look at the world, life, relationships, mostly expressed in 140 characters on less on twitter or otherwise.
A little background to my twitter story:
I joined twitter couple of years ago as "@maniacalsnob" - what I thought was a clever anagram of my full name- at the insistence of a friend who was active on twitter to chat with celebrities (Of course!) I, on the other hand was happy with posting statuses on facebook and the odd blogpost, as far as an online participation went. Then times came around, I was looking for a flat and my friend suggested me to post a tweet & voila! It got a few RTs and replies within minutes and I began to see the potential of twitter.
In these last 2 years, I have tweeted, retweeted, became @blahfamous, made jokes, made friends, got covered in the TAD365 project, wrote an article about twitter, won contests, but more importantly I have found strength in a platform as dynamic, diverse & exciting as twitter. A forum to say things I wouldn't otherwise, to have an opportunity to make a difference or to just get the word out. And while doing so, my (apparent) sense of humour/wit also found a parking spot. Today, twitter feels like my own digital home that I wake up to, spend a considerable time on and come back to at the end of everyday, most days. I feel a connection I don't feel with my real life friends, with some of the people I follow here, nameless, faceless as they might be. I laugh at the jokes, go
'Oh that's interesting' at the others, or be plain entertained at some of the other shenanigans going on here, all the time. Yup, twitterverse is a thing. It's a world of its own with its own format, syntax, joke-patterns, trends & millions of people connected by common interestes within a 140-character realm.
Recently, twitter allowed users to download their entire tweet-archive and being the fan of assorting, listing and documenting stuff that I am, I picked some of my own better tweets & compartmentalized them here. Also, because as with all forms of entertainment, comes the added risk of piracy and copied tweets are not unheard of. So I put this together as partly an anti-piracy trick as I could keep all of them hyperlinked with their timestamp etc. Feel free to RT/Star them! (Duh, I'm a tweep after all) or just quote me should you need a quip for an article or two.
Cheers,
Yours Unruly,
@blahfamous
